Université de Bretagne Sud (UBS) (University of Southern Brittany)
Enterprising and engaged, UBS focuses on four priority areas: Sea and Coastline; Industry of the Future; Environment; Health and Disability and Cyber and Data Intelligence. A human-scale institution, UBS has three campuses, Lorient, Vannes and Pontivy, and draws on the expertise of its 900 staff, including 500 teaching staff and research lecturers, to train nearly 10,000 students every year.
UBS is a multidisciplinary university. It encompasses several disciplines and research areas in the humanities and in science and technology. UBS has mapped its expertise based on these strengths. At the crossroads of training, research, innovation and business services, four areas of excellence emerged: the sea, materials, cyber and data sciences.
UBS uses its four cutting-edge technology platforms to support the innovation strategies of enterprises.
It brings together 14 laboratories, six of which are recognised and supported by the national centre for research, the CNRS: the Lab-STICC, TEMOS, LMBA, LGO, IRISA and IRDL laboratories. It boasts a total of 250 lecturers and research lecturers and over 200 doctoral students.
