Groupement d'intérêt scientifique Études Touristiques

Backed by the University of Angers and managed by the ESTHUA Faculty of Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, the GIS Études touristiques gathers 21 Higher Education Institutions. It brings together 192 researchers from 61 research units including 18 Joint Research Units (French UMR) of the CNRS and representing 26 scientific disciplines. Launched on May 6, 2019, it aims to structure, strengthen and promote research in tourism.

A new open call for proposals for the International Conference “Environmental History challenging the Mediterranean (16th to 21st centuries)" has just been launched. In light of France hosting the Third United Nations Conference on the Oceans in Nice in June 2025, this time of debate and sharing on the future of the oceans is an opportunity to take up these issues.
