AGROCAMPUS OUEST

The Institut national d’enseignement supérieur pour l’agriculture, l’alimentation et l’environnement (National institute for higher education in agriculture, food and the environment) or Institut Agro was established on 1 January 2020 through the merger of two internal schools, Agrocampus Ouest and Montpellier SupAgro. Under the joint authority of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Higher Education, Institut Agro aims to support agroecological transition and train responsible, committed students, who are critical and creative and able to apply solutions and produce new models.

AGROCAMPUS OUEST is an internal school of Institut Agro with two campuses: Rennes and Angers. Located in Europe’s main agricultural, maritime and food basin, the school is historically recognised for its training programmes and research in the fields of food, agriculture and the environment. Training nearly 2000 agricultural engineers, Master’s and PhD students, the school has the advantage of a territory that allows it to develop scientific expertise and play a major role in agricultural transitions. It conducts basic and applied research in association with its special partner INRAE (the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment), particularly on the more specific themes of agrifood, fisheries and landscape.

Embedded within a dense professional fabric, students benefit from the added values of a prestigious school with rapid integration into the professional world, international internships, a rich student life and a network of powerful companies and alumni. Through its training programmes, research and support for innovation, the school helps extend the national and international influence of western France through the Institut Agro.
