Time-sharing

Purchase from a specialised developer of a fitted and furnished apartment that can be used for a duration (usually a week) and over a pre-determined period. For example, someone can become the owner of an apartment in Playa del Carmen (Riviera Maya, Mexico) for a week in early August for five or ten years. The buyer can rent, resell, or even sometimes exchange it for another property belonging to the same real estate group (for example, Pierre et Vacances). One can also be a co-owner of a boat based on the same time-sharing principles as for apartments.
